Welcome back for Week no. 8! If you are just beginning a piece for the #BohoSAL, check out my previous posts here. And if you are new to embroidery and want to learn the basics, check out my embroidery book, Boho Embroidery for everything you need to get started!
Earlier this week, I was working on a special project for Heather Givans aka Crimson Tate for her booth at QuiltCon. I’m also finishing up my next embroidery pattern for Spring, which will be released March 1st! If you are interested in the Winter pattern, you can purchase it until the end of this month! The next pattern is going to be awesome and I can’t wait to share pics of my samples with you!
Both of these projects took up most of my week, and so, in little bits of downtime, I continued to work on my Lazy Daisy stitches in Crushed Clementine, Shiny Dancer and added Backstitches in Fresh Cut Grass.
This is also a great example of the thickness between a Size 5 Perle Cotton (the purple/blue water Backstitch) and a Size 8 Perle Cotton (the green Backstitch).
Let’s see what our friends have been stitching up this week!
I love the pops of color that @crum_93 is adding to her hoop with long Satin stitches. Also, her nails match the stripes and I just thought that was too cool!
It is no secret that I love Lazy Daisies and these large ones that @dawnking62 is stitching are just 👌🏻. Love them and the color she chose to stitch this piece!
Can we just focus on the needle weaving that @sewnowbyjudi is adding to the leaves on her fabric?! What a beautiful piece this is!
You really need to scroll back through @leighbee279’s feed to see how this piece starts out. I’m just blown away by the detail that she has added to this piece!
I love the simplicity in this piece by @jessicarosestitchery. Stitched in neutrals, the design of the fabric really pops when hooped up like this!
Another great week of stitching projects! I just love scrolling through the #BohoSAL feed to see what everybody is working on! Have a great week and I’ll see you back here next Sunday.
Happy stitching!
