A self-taught embroidery artist, I spend time pairing color, pattern and fabric combinations to create modern hoop art. While growing up, my seamstress mother tried (unsuccessfully) to teach me how to sew. I then began experimenting with non-sewing related fiber arts, and my appreciation for them grew as I stashed embroidery floss to make friendship bracelets, dabbled in weaving and rug hooking and learned how to knit. It wasn’t until years later that something clicked and I discovered how captivating the world of fabric could be (and I finally, with help once again from my mom, learned how to wrangle a sewing machine!) In recent years, I discovered my love for creating contemporary hoop art embellished with freestyle embroidery, beads, sequins and lots of fiber!

Along with you, Colonial Needle Company will be attending QuiltCon 2026. Reading the description of your teaching there I have to say I love the focus of your classes on hand embroidery, scrappy patchwork, and even sashiko style disciplines where the right tools truly elevate both the learning experience and the finished work. We feel like we have those tools at Colonial Needle. We would be delighted to provide needle, thread, or adhesive samples for your class demonstrations, student use, or inclusion in kits. These are all basic but necessary quality tools that support your creative instincts and those of your students. We would also be very interested in some form of on-going collaboration with your organization. If this sounds helpful, I would love to hear from you. Just let me know a bit about your upcoming classes, typical class size, and how you prefer to use those materials, and we can put something together for you.
